MUST DO BIRTHDAY TRADITION

Hello Loves! Welcome back to my little piece of happiness on the internet.

Time is just flyin' on by! One minute your 30 and the next your 31! 31...thirty-one...over 30...30+1 = 31...I wonder how many times I can say 31 in this post. 31 times. 3 whole decades of living. Just writing that made my heartbeat fast and my face flush. I promised myself (when I was under 30) that I wouldn't stress out about getting older. I always hated when women wouldn't tell their age. Like, trick we know you ain't no 27...so stop lying. I vowed to myself that I would always embrace my age because it's a gift from God. Now...that I am in that season of life where I am over 30...I must be a woman of my word and embrace the hell out of of 31!

Honestly, I'm excited and nervous for this year. I'm excited because I'm really going to put the work in to make the shit I always wanted to happen finally happen. I'm nervous because I'm finally going to be as real as I can be and that may offend others. There is a huge freedom that you have when you finally don't give AF what others think. I may not be everyone's cup of tea but I know I'm somebody's shot of tequila. Yeah, I totally just made that up. This post is giving you all of my personality and I love it!

I must give credit where credit is due - I was inspired to create a "birthday list" by Elaine of The Welte Family Blog. I actually used to work for her husband, DJ as a Football Videographer back in my college days. Go Cardinals! I also saw Angela of Saffron Avenue create a list too and told myself you will do this in 2018. So, here we are doing the shit we said we would do. The main point of the list is to use your "age" and create a list of that number including all of the things your heart truly desires to accomplish/experience this year. So, here is my list below:

  1. Stay-cation at Fancy Hotel w/Reg
  2. Party All Night With Loved Ones
  3. Visit NOLA
  4. 1st Girls Trip to Mexico
  5. Launch Online Store + Sell Goods
  6. 7 Interviews on Podcast (or more)
  7. Host an Event (or two)
  8. Send Portfolio to Model Agency
  9. Family Reunion in South Carolina
  10. Family/Cousin Reunion in Indy
  11. Float tanks w/Reg
  12. Upgrade Laptop
  13. Upgrade Phone
  14. Upgrade Camera
  15. 4 Website Clients For Year (or more)
  16. Update Wedding Portfolio/Website + Book A Wedding

  19. Decorate Kid's Bedrooms
  20. Decorate Our Bedroom
  21. Family Vacation (or Stay-cation)
  22. Organize + Declutter Home (again)
  23. Spend A Day On A Boat
  24. Weigh Goal Weight (under 200lbs)
  25. Practice Drawing + Hand Lettering
  26. Create The Kid's Shows (10 episodes each)
  27. Create Podcast w/Reg
  28. Write Show/Movie Treatment, Script + Pitch Show
  29. Book One Monthly Client (or more)
  30. Save $1,000 Emergency Fund
  31. Create Creative Courses + Ebooks

I simply just jotted whatever came to mind on paper first when I was creating my list. Then, I focused in on what would make this year amazing if I accomplished it. Now...the real work begins! Take what you have on your list and organize it into categories. Then, organize it to what can you accomplish first. (think what you can complete today or what you can complete with the resources that you currently have at this moment). Then, come back to your list in a few days and list all the tasks needed to complete each item on your list. Give yourself a few more days away from your list and then pick the first tasks you will work on, I recommend no more than one at a time but if you must no more than three tops! Below, is my list in categories:

  1. Party All Night With Loved Ones
  2. Float tanks w/Reg
  3. Spend A Day On A Boat
  4. Visit NOLA - February
  5. Family/Cousin Reunion in Indy - July (4th of July Weekend)
  6. 1st Girls Trip to Mexico - July
