PRODUCTIVITY IS SEXY - HOW TO PLAN YOUR DAY + GET THINGS DONE
Productivity is sexy! Being efficient and having systems excite me. Yes! I am one of those planning nerds that love a list. I love the feeling of checking items off my to do list. Now, I wasn't always like this - college life helped me hone these skills. I just recently reconnected with my inner planner and now I'm on a roll of getting ish done! I want to share with you how I plan my days, weeks, months and year.
MY YEARLY PLANNER - MYTAUGHTYOU "THIS IS MY YEAR"
Myleik Teele is a successful entrepreneur and CEO of CurlBox and she delivers gems on her podcast MyTaughtYou. She released two journals and I wanted to support and bought the, "This is My Year" notebook as a birthday gift to myself. I use this notebook to journal about my dreams, goals and items that I want to achieve this year. Over the year - I realized that I needed to focus on one goal at a time to really accomplish my list. Once I have the proper systems aligned then I can begin the next goal on my list.
MY MONTHLY/WEEKLY CALENDAR + PLANNER
My best friend Ebony gifted this lovely planner to me the beginning of the year. She knows me so well and this planner brings me so much joy. How can you not love this quote, the pink and gold! The planner has monthly calendar layouts and weekly pages, I find this very helpful when planning my monthly goals and weekly tasks to reach that goal. I take this notebook to work and sit it out in front of me - I have find this very motivating for me to have a good day and to be productive. It reminds me to use my time wisely and be as efficient as possible.
MY DAILY NOTEBOOK
I love to start each month with a fresh notebook, its so refreshing. New pages - New opportunities. I found this little beauty of a notebook at Dollar Tree. How I plan my day - is where the magic happens! I enjoy working on task by the hour (so...I list hour increments down the page - see example below)
8 - Good Morning - Emails, VM
9 - Updates + Invoicing
10 - Meeting
11 - Updates + Invoicing
12 - Lunch (write blog post)
On the left side of the notebook are the hour increments of time. On the right side of the notebook I list the task that I want to complete for work and my 3 top priority tasks to complete for myself. (so...I try to have one fun, one business, and one home related - see example below)
1 - Family Movie Night
2 - Clean Bathrooms
3 - Write Blog Post
On the first line of the page - I start my day with a quote or a phrase to help me focus for the day. "You Got This Girl" for example.
On the bottom line of the page - I list my meals and water intake. I find this helpful to reference back my eating habits.
