MY JULY BUCKET LIST

This is our last month until we send the kids back to school or get back on our teaching/working/doing-all-the-things again mode. 2020 came in like a wrecking ball and I was holding on by a string. A string that at any moment I felt could break. What has changed? I’m in week one of the ReFocus Challenge and I feel so much better. I no longer feel like I’m going to break but empowered to seize the day since I have my priorities together. All. The. Way. Together. I highly recommend you check out the ReFocus Challenge!

10 THINGS I WILL MAKE HAPPEN

Our mental health is so important and as we are battling a global pandemic and facing a revolution we need days with some joy if possible. I encourage you to create a list of things you would like to do for yourself and with your loved ones. I hope this inspires you to create a bucket list. Please share with me what you have planned for July!

1 - Complete The ReFocus Challenge - I really needed a reset and this weekend was perfect. I was able to focus on my priorities and schedule them out where I am not overwhelmed. The love and praise that I have received in the first week of the challenge have been amazing and I’m so grateful that you are loving it and it’s making an impact in your life. It’s not too late to join, get started here.

2 - Declutter + Organize The House - I need things organized right now and everything to be in its place. School is right around the corner and I need systems in place. I went ahead and organized the kid’s rooms this weekend, I shared the before and after in my IG’s story. Next, is my office.

3 - Get Nannie Out The House - Since the passing of my grandfather, Pawpaw my grandmother’s health hasn’t been well. She has had good days and bad days. I’ve gone part-time at work to help take care of her Tuesdays and Thursdays. My goal this month is to get her out of the house and soak up some sun or simply get some fresh air. I may just have to pick her up and throw her in the car...I’m joking but a tad serious.

4 - Outdoor Family Fun - I want to capture and create some summer memories here at home and venturing out in the city to some open and safe spaces. Family bike rides, hikes, playing in the pool at home, maybe a water gun fight, and some basketball in the driveway.

5 - Romantic Dinner On The Deck With Reg - We said we were going to do this in April, then May, then June, so hopefully we will make it happen in July. I’m talking about all the cliche romantic things: sunset, candles, music, good food, drinks, and maybe dancing but I don’t want to freak out our neighbors.

6 - Ice Cream. Ice Cream. Ice Cream. - Summer + July = Ice Cream. There are a few ice cream places here in Indy that I want to try out with the family!

7 - Workout Dates with Reg - What’s better than a workout and hanging with your boo-thang? I mean...I could think of a few other things to do with your boo but after those endorphins hit you’ll be happy you worked out together! Plus, we need to burn off that ice cream.

8 - Watch Hamilton - So...we already watched over the weekend but I may watch it again! It was sooo good! I found myself laughing, shocked, and googling did Hamilton sleep with…I don’t want to spoil it for you.

9 - Get. A. Tan. - I am ready for my glow and some of that vitamin D. This will count as my β€œme” time in between laying out in the sun and watching a few episodes of Dynasty on Netflix.

10 - Back To School Shopping - Honestly, I don’t know what this will look like because we are still on the fence about sending the kids back to school. The school has set up safety measures but I’m not sure yet how I feel. I miss the days where you could stroll the aisles at Target and stock up on fresh school supplies. I’m a lover of a fresh notebook and new pens! Shopping this year looks more like online shopping.

Oh, and a bonus one - Clean. Out. Your. Car. Starla. Yes! My car is looking pretty crazy these days from kid’s toys and the trash they leave behind along with the things I leave behind. I’m overdue for a car wash inside and out along with getting an oil change.

Would love to know your bucket list item for July! Share with me on social media by tagging me @StarlaKayMathis - I also created this handy dandy template for you to use on social media.
