NEW MARLEY TWISTS

The weather is starting to warm up here in Indy and that means going out more and wearing less...haha! That and protective hairstyles! I love a good set of marley twists, box braids, and faux locs.

BIRTHDAY HAIR

Kayin is turning seven this month and we decided she could have weave in her hair for the first time in her first set of marley twists. Not only was she excited about the new look she asked if she could have some color in her hair as well. I gladly, let her live her best little life and found some hair that is super lightweight! We call this her Birthday Hair!

LET’S TALK HAIR

I purchased the hair we used at our local beauty supply store but found a link as well. Kayin is rocking 30 and I’m rocking 27 and 30 mix. Kayin used 4/5 bundles and I used 7 bundles. One pack of hair comes with 3 bundles for $7.99 - That’s a fantastic deal! The hair is smoother and a tad bit silkier than the previous hair I would use for my marley twists but the cost was worth experimenting with. The previous hair that I use has more of a kinkier texture. I’ll keep you all posted on the hair longevity. I purchased Kayin and me matching leopard bonnets to wear to help protect the style!

HEALTHY HAIR & SCALP

Definitely have to thank my bestie and stylist @styledbylele for giving Kayin and I the best shampoo, head massage, and peppermint deep condition treatment. It was lovely and truly an experience your hair and scalp needs! I definitely recommend a good cleaning and deep conditioning before protective hairstyles. @bebe_love did her magic once again and showed out! I love the parting, the twist placement, length, and weight of our marley twists. Kayin’s set took 4 hours and my set took 5 hours, which is great timing if you ask me! I definitely recommend connecting with @styledbylee and @bebe_love for your hair needs! I highly recommend protective styles like marley twist for a nice break from doing your hair daily.

As always take care of your scalp with daily or weekly scalp refreshes using water, leave-in conditioner spray and oil massages throughout the wear of your protective style.
