Kicking off a new series here on the blog! In this series, I plan to share exciting tidbits about my weekend, some of my favorite things, and my thoughts. I hope you enjoy it!
HOW IT STARTED VS HOW IT’S GOING
I took a stab at the “How It Started vs. How It’s Going” Challenge over on Instagram. Basically, the challenge is to share something from the beginning and where it is now. Many have joined the challenge of sharing their love stories, weight loss journeys, careers, and etc.
I shared a series of photos of Reg and I in the beginning (2006) to a family photo of us (2020). 14 years of loving, growing and learning with each other.
GETTING BACK IN THE 5AM GROOVE
Speaking of weight loss journeys, I’ve recently got back in the groove with my own. I challenged myself to get back into a workout routine and I’ve been pretty successful at it. The first week, I worked out every day and ate pretty well until the weekend. Pizza and more ruined what would have been 5lbs down. This last week, I vowed to be better during the weekend and I did. I had some pizza too but not as much as the weekend before. I tried a new workout Friday, that I’m going to challenge myself to complete this week at 5AM during the week. I really want to get back to 5AM workouts and seize the day in the mornings for myself. I’m a happier Starla, Mom, and Wife when I make time for myself in the mornings before anyone else is up.
VOTING EARLY & BEING TACTFUL
I brought the kids with me to vote about a week ago. It was a great learning lesson. I taught them how to be tactful before we arrived just in case they wanted to share their opinions loudly regarding candidates. We allowed the kids to stay up late during the debates to watch and form their own opinions. It’s funny, I teach my 6-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son how to be tactful and respectful, yet…the first presidential debate was a circus.
