HOW TO BUILD A FAMILY COMMAND CENTER

Managing one person’s schedule is work. Now, add a spouse, and two kids...send help!

Well...I have a solution for you that helps us stay on top of things! Our lovely command center.

When I started planning our command center, I wanted something that would look chic and minimal, something to tackle paper clutter until I was ready to deal with it, something that would show our schedules, and a nice quote to tie it all together.

OUR COMMAND CENTER

DRY ERASE CALENDAR: We have this large and beautiful calendar. I don’t know if you know this but I am a planning geek and I love notebooks, planners, and calendars! I knew I wanted to go the dry-erase route compared to a chalkboard calendar and I love how this calendar came with a magnet dry-erase marker holder.

MAIL & MAGAZINE HOLDER: Next, we have two black magazine holders that we use to organize our mail and important papers. I love these because black is so chic to me and I don’t have to see the mail clutter. Out of sight, out of mind….wink, wink *until it overflows and I must address everything.

FRAMED CANVAS FAMILY QUOTE: Lastly, a nice quote to bring it all together. I love this framed canvas sign, “Family is the heart of our home”. This sign is perfect because our command center is in our dining/living room.

DRY ERASE MARKERS: Depending on your style you can opt-in for all black or a nice colorful collection to organize every family member’s schedule.

MAGNET PLANNING STICKERS: These are pretty cool and actually pretty. I use these to mark out meeting days, special dates, and more! Don’t kill me friends, I searched high and low on the internet and could not find a link for these. I purchased them in store at Target.

STICKER ADHESIVE FOR MOUNTING: Yo! These are clutch! We rarely drill holes into our walls and use several of these to mount everything! When I say several…I mean several on one piece for safety!
