IT WAS TIME FOR A REBRAND

Hello there and welcome to the rebrand of Starla Kay Mathis!

This has been a long time in the making but with all good, great and amazing things…it takes time. I started blogging in 2016 and after a few years of getting my feet wet in the blogging world, I understood more of what my purpose was for this platform.

Rebranding is more than picking a new brand color or logo, its more than changing your business name or services its about clarity in your mission, services and processes to serve your audience. It’s hard work and can take a lot of time but its so worth it!

I marie kondo’d the ish out of my business, blog & website.

After blogging close to 4 years it was time to level up and walk in my purpose and do what truly brings me joy in my creative life.

MY FAVORITE WEBSITE FEATURES

I’m loving the new layout and design of my “about me” page. It hits all the key points that an about me page should have.
The “side bar” design on each blog post is so clutch and will help inform readers what else to expect on the website.
The “main” page hosts everything from the blog, business and podcast!
I have a page dedicated to my new freebie, which was a 4 series blog post that I repurposed! Check out the 4 Week ReFocus Challenge!
The “footer” is like my new favorite! I love that it has links to everything and a thank you to readers for visiting the website!

HOW I KNEW I WAS READY

FOR A REBRAND

I knew I was ready for a fresh start and wanted to update my creative services, lifestyle mission and values that reflected me to my core. My business goals have changed and I wanted to ensure that my messaging is clear and concise. Low key, when anyone would ask for my website address I would cringe. I knew as a website designer I wanted my website to look the part of a creative entrepreneur and lifestyle content creator.

During the rebrand I hit several brick walls that stopped me from moving forward such as the tough decision to either rewrite each and every blog post upfront or repurpose them as I go. I decided to start fresh and repurpose my old content as I go. This was a huge risk and many of my old google links of previous posts will not work but it’s worth it in the end for me as my branding and messaging will have clarity.

MY FAVORITE BLOGGING FEATURES

I love the blogging layout of using a variety of heading sizes and colors.
Definitely feeling the side bar! I always wanted one and I really, like REALLY like mine!
The author photo and snarky caption at the end of my blog posts.
My newsletter “Sundays with Starla” is located at the end of the blog posts and in the sidebar.
Sharing my Instagram feed is perfect to help add a little more color to the layout.
